Annie is a regional shoulder specialist, diagnosing and treating all types of shoulder presentations. She has lived and worked in Cornwall since 2001 and has been offering private consultations since 2016 alongside her ongoing full-time NHS commitments. She has built an exceptional reputation for providing comprehensive management plans for all types of shoulder problems.

Annie is conveniently positioned in the heart of Truro. During your consultation, she will conduct a thorough assessment and provide a clear explanation of your diagnosis. She will discuss a range of treatment options tailored to your needs, which may include a personalised rehabilitation program. If appropriate, she will also explore alternative non-conservative treatment options with you.

Following the consultation, Annie will prepare a detailed report outlining her findings. With your consent, this report can be sent to your GP to support your ongoing management plan. The report will include any recommendations for further imaging or interventions if necessary.

Annie’s Commitment to Excellence in NHS Shoulder Care and Beyond

Annie is dedicated to her NHS roles, where she serves both secondary and primary care. Within the Royal Cornwall NHS Trust she specialises in Trauma and Orthopaedics, running elective shoulder orthopaedic clinics, a bespoke complex shoulder instability clinic and managing the Virtual Fracture Clinic (VFC) shoulder dislocation pathway for Cornwall.

In October 2019, Annie was invited to join a local GP surgery as a First Contact Practitioner (FCP). Due to the success of this initiative, she was promoted in 2022 and now leads a team of highly skilled FCP clinicians, providing an exemplary diagnostic musculoskeletal triage service  complementing the GP surgery service.

Annie is deeply passionate about delivering high-quality care in both the NHS and her private practice. Her commitment to professional development is evident in her pursuit of extensive postgraduate education. She has recently completed her Independent and Supplementary Non-Medical Prescribing training.

She was the founder and Chair of the Cornwall Shoulder Specialist Interest Group. Previous roles include leading the MSK Shoulder Interface Service and managing the physiotherapy team at Camborne/Redruth Community Hospital. Her dedication to advancing her career has included the role as Cornwall’s Principal Investigator for the ARTISAN multi-centre randomised control trial, published in the BMJ which focussed on rehabilitation following traumatic shoulder dislocation.
